If Krav Maga is so effective, why is it not featured in MMA fights?
Krav Maga IS effective. But it is not intended to nor designed to make you rule in the octagon. If you wish to be an absolute monster in an unarmed one-on-one fight in the octagon then study MMA. Nothing in the world will prepare you better.
While many techniques in Krav Maga are similar to those used in MMA we spend a large amount of time learning stuff that makes no sense for an MMA fighter to "waste" time on when preparing for an MMA match.
A few examples are knife threats and attacks, stick attacks, multible opponents, gun threats, carjacking, self defense in cramped spaces such as hallways, staircases, elevators, conflict avoidance and de-escalation, use of improvised weapons, defending others, post-fight behaviour, stress management, fighting in darkness, being surprised, fighting an unknown number of potentially armed opponents, situational awareness etc. etc.
None of that stuff would really make an MMA fighter more likely to succeed in the UFC, so it makes little sense for him to devote large amount of time to it. But from a self defense perspective it makes a lot of sense to focus a lot on that.
